The BASE 2.5 Portable Power Station incorporates an automotive grade, high-quality lithium iron phosphate battery (LiFePO4), which can be cycled 3500 times before its original capacity is reduced to 80%. Having a capacity of 2048Wh, expandable up to a massive 32,768Wh by linking fifteen BASE 2.0-EB extra batteries, the BASE 2.5 has a significant energy reserve, offering extended periods of uninterrupted power supply. Its in-built power management means you can simultaneously charge by multiple sources while using your connected devices. With safety in mind, the BASE 2.5 Battery Management System (BMS) has multiple in-built protection features, preventing overheating, overload, and short-circuit. These limit excessive power draw, overcharge and deep discharge to preserve the longevity of the battery. With short circuit protection and temperature control, you can confidently use this Power Station, knowing that your safety is taken care of. The BASE 2.5 is equipped with a pure sine wave inverter, capable of powering appliances and devices in situations where there is no access to mains power. It has an Uninterruptible Power Supply function, allowing your appliances to use grid power via the unit and switch over to battery power in 8-20 milliseconds in case of a power cut.

The BASE 2.5 Portable Power Station offers advanced charging capabilities and flexible options to recharge the unit quickly. It supports three charging methods:
AC Charging: approximately 1.5 hours from 0% to 100% state of charge from a standard wall outlet.
Solar and hybrid Renewable Charging: approximately 1h from 0% to 100% charge capability. Harness
the power of the sun and recharge your power station using compatible solar panels (sold
separately). The high-efficiency MPPT charge controller converts solar, wind (DC), or hydroelectric
(DC) input, allowing you to go completely off-grid and enjoy the planet's free energy.
Onboard Charging: Trickle charge via the vehicle's 12V socket while driving.

FAQs

1. Which Extra Battery Models are compatible with Sherpa BASE 2.5?
It is only able to be linked to the BASE 2.0-EB model.

2. What devices can BASE 2.5 power?
Please check the wattage rating of your device (on the product information label). If it is below 2500W, you can use BASE 2.5 to power it. For powering multiple devices, plese add all wattage ratings together and keep the total below 2500W.
Please note, that some devices with built-in motors/compressors may start at 2-4 times the rated power, which can overload the BASE 2.5, causing temporary safety shut off.
The DC output ports are limited to a 12V, 10A or 12V, 30A load.

3. Can the BASE 2.5 be used as a UPS (uninterruptable power supply)?
BASE 2.5 supports UPS function with a switchover time of 8-20ms.

4. How do I calculate the BASE 2.5 run time?
Runtime is calculated for you and is shown on the display screen at any time you have a device drawing power.
General equation for run time = Total Capacity (2048Wh) x 0.85 (Depth of Discharge) / Load (Device rated power-Watts)

5. Can the BASE 2.5 be charged while discharging?
Yes, it can be charged and discharged simultaneously by mains or DC power.

6. Does the BASE 2.5 support dual charging?
Yes, the BASE 2.5 does support AC and DC charging simultaneously. The DC is prioritised so you can benefit more from renewable charge sources.

7. How should the BASE 2.5 be stored?
Please turn off the unit and store it in a dry, ventilated place at normal room temperature. Do not place
this unit near water sources or a wet/moist environment. For long-term storage, it is recommended to
discharge the battery to 30% every three months and recharge it to 60% to sustain the battery life.

8. Is there any other safety advice?
• This product is IP-rated 21 and is therefore NOT waterproof.
• Pay attention to ventilation and heat dissipation when in use.
• Ensure adequate space for the vent fans to dissipate internal heat when in use.
• Do not use the product in environments where volatile gas may be present.
• When cleaning the product, wipe it with a dry, soft, clean cloth.

9. Can this product be transported by plane?
No, it is classed as dangerous goods and must be shipped by sea and
land only.

10. Is the actual useable capacity of the product consistent with the capacity
stated in the user manual?
All batteries reserve some capacity to prevent them from permanent damage by deep discharge. The actual usable capacity of the BASE 2.5 is therefore lower than the capacity specified in the user manual by approximately 15% so you can use up to 85%.

11. What is the storage capacity of the BASE 2.5?
The BASE 2.5 has a rated capacity of 2048Wh and a useable capacity of approximately 1,740Wh.

12. Does the BASE 2.5 support an Extra Battery scalability?
Yes, up to 15 extra battery packs can be linked to the BASE 2.5 to achieve up to 32,768Wh capacity.

13. Does BASE 2.5 have a built-in MPPT charge controller?
Yes, there is a built-in MPPT controller; use the Anderson port for 18V-140V input (2100W max) for PV (photovoltaic) input or micro wind DC charging.

15. Why does BASE 2.5 not charge at the rated Max AC input power at all times?
